A downloadable game

Chess 2D Online is an online multiplayer chess project developed in Unity.

The game is based on an existing chess project, while the online multiplayer features were added and extended for this version.

Features:

  • Create private rooms with randomly generated room codes
  • Join rooms using a room code
  • Online multiplayer for two players
  • Waiting room with host-controlled match start
  • Random White and Black assignment
  • Spectator Mode for watching ongoing matches
  • Turn and spectator information during gameplay
  • Win and lose result screens

The main focus of this project is extending a traditional chess game with online room-based multiplayer and spectator functionality.

Install instructions

Download & Installation Instructions

  1. Download the ZIP file.
  2. Extract the ZIP file to a folder on your computer.
  3. Open Chess_App_ADC.exe to start the game.
  4. Keep all extracted files and folders together in the same directory.
  5. An internet connection is required to use the online multiplayer features.
